About
Kim Purdy
Asian Bodywork Therapy
Classical Homeopath
As a homeopath, my passion runs deep. I’ve used Classical Homeopathy exclusively for my own care since 1983. I hold an advanced degree in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder and trained extensively under renowned pediatric neurologist and homeopath Dr. Luc DeSchepper. I am currently a candidate for CHC (Council for Homeopathic Certification).
I’ve lived a holistic life for over four decades—choosing traditional, energetic, and nature-based medicine and foods, as a way to live more fully, and more freely.
I am professionally licensed and certified Asian Bodywork Therapist (AOBTA, since 1990) and a certified Classical Homeopath with decades of clinical experience in whole-person healing.
I’ve maintained a licensed practice and healing studio in Quincy, MA since 1997.
I offer bodywork sessions on a massage table, Ashiatsu table (barefoot Shiatsu), or traditional futon.
I am trained in Shiatsu, Tuina, Barefoot Shiatsu, Acupressure, Sotai, and Chinese medicine, including acupuncture channels and point combinations, fire cupping, Gua Sha.
I was honored to begin my clinical work in 1986 with a one-year internship at the Chronic Pain and Stress Relief Clinic at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, under the direction of Dr. Ted Kaptchuk (now a leading voice in placebo and integrative medicine at Harvard Medical School), after completion of my shiatsu program.
While many people chose to 'grandfather in' when the new state law came into effect, Kim chose to stay pure in her modality and association, therefore my city licensure which all licensure was prior to 2008, is state sanctioned., the 'big' thing the state says is that I can not hold myself out as a massage therapist; but considering I have always considered and used my legitimate title as an Asian Bodywork Therapist, I found the states stance on that as more than agreeable on my part, so when you see the word massage such as Thai 'massage" or Shiatsu 'massage' or acupressure 'massage' this means they are under the massage licensure and grandfathered in, This means that they are licensed to do 'stroking; techniques that we as Asian bodywork therapists are not trained in.
